Menopause is a phase of life that all women go through, and common symptoms that can be difficult to manage include mood swings, anxiety and sleep problems that can make everyday life an unacceptable challenge. New research shows that ice baths can alleviate these types of symptoms.
Research on ice baths:
A very interesting study from University College London ( UCL ) has recently published very exciting results in the journal Post Reproductive Health.
*Half of the women experienced a reduction in anxiety.
*One third noted a significant improvement in mood swings.
*Over 30% experienced relief from symptoms of other conditions
One of the women in the study even described ice baths as something "magical". She said it even "saved her life" and her physical and mental problems disappeared completely when she took her ice baths.
Why do ice baths work?
When you sit in an ice bath, something exciting happens to your body:
* Happiness hormones are released ... Ice baths cause the body to release endorphins, which naturally make you feel happy and relieve pain.
*Stress management improves ... Cortisol levels (the stress hormone that makes us feel overwhelmed) drop, which can make you feel more balanced and calm.
*Blood circulation is stimulated ... It can help the body regulate its temperature better, which can really relieve symptoms.
Ice bath - more than just a "bath".
For many women, ice baths have become an unexpected but popular part of everyday life. Not only does it help you cope with the symptoms of the menopause, but it also gives you the chance to relax and live in the here and now.
